Nellie Catzen

A big believer in the power of community, Nellie Catzen's mission is to build capacity and connections. She's served as Friends of Lafitte Greenway's Program Coordinator since 2015, directly managing and providing health promotion, environmental education, and community building programming and events on the Greenway. She previously worked as Special Projects Coordinator for Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, where she strengthened the agency’s services to refugees and immigrants from 2013-2015. Outside of work, Nellie proudly serves as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for Grow Dat Youth Farm, and hosts monthly issues-based dinner parties to connect changemakers in the community with potential volunteers and donors. Nellie holds a degree in Environmental Health from the University of Pennsylvania, and is passionate about healthy food, community organizing, and dancing.
