Shelby Russ

As the President and CEO of AOS Interior Environments, Shelby has devoted his career to the built environment by connecting clients with the commercial products and expertise necessary to turn their design intent into reality. Shelby’s key relationships across the architectural community coupled with 39 years of industry experience has fostered a deep understanding of the critical role space plays in addressing human needs and creating professionally sensitive environments.

Named one of the “Top 50 Private Companies” and the “#2 Best Places to Work” in New Orleans, AOS is the largest provider of manufactured interior construction, commercial furnishings, and storage solutions in Louisiana and Mississippi. Since taking the helm in 1996, Shelby has diversified the AOS product portfolio established the company as the leading design-assist firm in the region and steadily grown annual revenue from $3 million to over $50 million in 2018. It was under his leadership that the company incorporated all warehousing, installation and service in-house, ensuring a turnkey approach for full control over the entire fulfillment process. Shelby is deeply passionate about building a better world and is doing so by bringing innovative leadership and disruptive technology to the design and construction process.

In addition to running AOS, Shelby has served on numerous industry and community advisory boards throughout his career and believes in giving back to the region with his time whenever possible. He currently sits on the Board for the New Orleans Architecture Foundation (NOAF) and in 2018 was honored to be named a Role Model by the Young Leadership Council (YLC) and a Patron of Architecture by the Louisiana Architecture Foundation (LAF). He served on the Young Aspirations, Young Artists (YAYA) Board for 10 years and is a former chair and board member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO).
