Austin Sherman

Sherman launched Big Easy Bucha, the first commercial kombucha company in Louisiana, with his wife, Alexis Korman, in 2014. Working with regional farmers to source premium ingredients for their vegan, probiotic drinks, Big Easy Bucha has grown to be the largest commercial kombucha production facility in the Gulf South. The award-winning brand was recently featured in Oprah Magazine, won a Best of the South Food Award in Southern Living Magazine, and was named an Editor's Pick in Imbibe. An entrepreneur from a young age, Sherman attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, and worked in commercial real estate development prior to launching Big Easy Bucha. Passionate about growing jobs in Louisiana, Sherman also spearheaded a partnership with STRIVE Nola, which helps connect individuals with barriers to employment with meaningful jobs (currently, 10% of Big Easy Bucha staff are STRIVE graduates or from underemployed groups).
